What is LIT in BlaQ?

LIT in BlaQ: A Black Book Fair and Author Showcase is a vibrant monthly event celebrating black voices, stories, and creativity across the region. More than just a book fair, LIT in BlaQ is a community-driven platform where black authors, aspiring writers, and vendors come together to share their work, connect with readers, and support one another.


Hosted by Edward Williams, Managing Partner of Greyt Lyfe Publishing, this event brings together a diverse lineup of established and emerging voices in literature, providing a unique space for meaningful discussions, book signings, and an opportunity to meet the authors behind the words. LIT in BlaQ is a book fair and black author showcase, providing a space for black authors, aspiring writers, and vendors to share their work with the community. This event is hosted by Edward Williams, Managing Partner of Greyt Lyfe Publishing.


Yes! The event is free and open to the public, welcoming readers, families, and anyone interested in discovering and supporting black authors and creatives. ATTENDEE SIGN-UP


To join as an author, you’ll need:

  • Physical copies of your book(s) for sale.
  • Availability to engage with attendees and discuss your work.
  • Online links to your books on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or other platforms for sharing with attendees.


Yes, there is a $50 registration fee for authors and vendors, which includes a table, chair, and a black table covering. AUTHOR/ VENDOR SIGN-UP


We provide a table, chair, and black table covering. Authors and vendors are responsible for their own setup and teardown, which must be completed at least one hour before the event begins.


Authors can register by completing the registration form on our website and submitting the $50 fee. Register early, as space is limited! AUTHOR/ VENDOR SIGN-UP


We welcome a range of vendors, from book and publishing-related services to other local small businesses. Vendor spaces are limited, so register early to secure your spot.


Yes, vendors are encouraged to bring any additional display materials they’d like to use to showcase their products or services.


All participants must complete setup at least one hour before the event begins. This ensures that we’re ready to welcome attendees on time.


LIT in Blaq may offer light refreshments at the venue, depending on availability, but vendors and attendees are encouraged to explore nearby local options.


Yes, authors and vendors may bring one or two additional team members to help manage their tables. Please indicate additional team members on the registration form.


Authors and vendors will have access to free parking. Attendees may incur a cost for garage, lot, on street/ metered parking. 


No, all author and vendor registrations must be completed in advance to ensure smooth organization and planning. Be sure to register by the deadline provided on our website.
